Sandi has worked globally and nationally in the Pharmaceutical Industry since 1988, working with global leaders such as AstraZeneca, GlaxoSmithKline, Otsuka and BARDA, the Biomedical Advanced Research & Development Authority, a division of Health and Human Services (HHS). BARDA develops medical countermeasures that address the public and medical consequences of chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) accidents, incidents and attacks, pandemic influenza and emerging infectious diseases.
Her pharma industry experience has ranged from Regulatory Affairs to Ally Development, as well as Segment strategy and more. Her focus cuts broadly across disease groups and indications, and is particularly robust in cardiovascular and cancer therapeutic areas, rare and orphan diseases and pediatrics. In pharma consulting, she has held executive leadership roles such as Vice President and Senior Vice President within the Pharmaceutical Consulting Industry and pharmaceutical companies. She has led teams up to 100 people.
Educated, Civic-Minded & Awarded
A native of Pittsburgh, Sandi and her family have lived in the Wilmington, DE, area of suburban Philadelphia since the 1980s. She holds an undergraduate degree from Carlow University (www.Carlow.edu), a masters’ degree from Widener University (www.Widener.edu), and she expects to complete her Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) degree from Wilmington University (www.WilmU.edu) shortly.
She previously worked in clinical health care where among other duties, as a charge nurse, she opened the Cardiac ICU for post-operative patients at a major teaching hospital.
She’s also been an active volunteer across a variety of civic, community and public health organizations, among them, Brandywine Valley Church (www.Brandywine.Church), the Sunday Breakfast Mission (www.SundayBreakfastMission.org), Angel Tree (www.PrisonFellowship.org/about/Angel-Tree), American Cancer Society (www.Cancer.org), American Heart Association (www.Heart.org), University and Whist Club (www.UniversityAndWhistClub.com) and more.
Sandi has received multiple awards and honors. In 2018, she received the Carlow Laureate award, for her contribution to the nursing profession and to her community. In 2019, Sandi was awarded a Top Women in Business award in Delaware for her work in getting new therapeutic drugs approved through FDA and other Health Authorities. In 2024, Sandi was awarded one of the Top 50 Women in Business in Delaware, and also awarded the Carlow University Distinguished Nursing Excellence Award.

Her husband, Sam Waltz, is a Vietnam-era Veteran, US Army CounterIntelligence, who heads Expert-Nation.com as its Managing Director for the last 5-plus years, after previously serving a decade on the Board of Directors of its predecessor company, www.CECON.com. Formerly, he headed Public Affairs for both DuPont Company Medical Products and DuPont Company Agricultural Products (now www.Corteva.com); he also headed Issues & Crisis Management for various DuPont businesses under its Corporate General Counsel. He also assisted in other areas, e.g., working with the founder of a Carlsbad, CA-HQ medical device maker in both cardiovascular and dermatological industries.
